Becky Lloyd, Chief Executive Officer
MBA (Columbia Business School), MEng Mechanical Engineering and Management (Imperial College London)
Becky leads Toitū Envirocare in delivering practical business solutions for environmental regeneration and economic sustainability.
She brings customer and commercial insights to our scientific offerings, ensuring our solutions are useful for industry and business. Becky’s background covers leadership roles in a range of disciplines and industries, from sales and marketing to strategic leadership across the consulting, banking, telco and building materials sectors. Becky moved to New Zealand with her family – husband Guy, son Sam, and daughter Katie – in 2010 and they all became citizens in 2015. She enjoys spending time with friends and family in the great outdoors, including ocean-swimming, skiing, e-biking, and occasionally running.
Dr Belinda Mathers, General Manager Technical
PhD Chemical Engineering (Monash University), BEng Hons Chemical and Process Engineering (Canterbury University)
Belinda manages our technical team and oversees our technical delivery to ensure we keep on top of scientific research, changes in best practice, and business needs.
She has extensive experience in developing and maintaining technical competency and systems. As an engineer she has a focus on efficiency, and works closely with the team to best use our range of expertise. Belinda is a keen mountain biker and sea kayaker and loves to explore new places whenever possible. In an emergency she might be found supporting our community as part of a Civil Defence team.
Josephine Rudkin-Binks, General Manager Sales & Marketing

Josephine leads our Sales and Marketing team. She loves finding the right solution for a business, no matter the industry, size or sustainability experience.
Josephine knows that environmental performance is linked to business success, so she uses her determination and energy to help organisations find their path to sustainability. Her other passion is helping organisations tell their story of achievement with all their stakeholders. Josephine keeps the fun moving outside of work through gardening, swimming and dance – she says that a day not danced is a day not lived.
Karen Tipper, FCA, Certification & Operations Manager

Karen manages our certification and audit offerings aligned to our carbon programmes. She also conducts client audits and technical reviews for our carbon members and looks after the operational aspects of the business.
She has many years of audit and accounting experience and is always patient and cheerful as she guides staff and clients through carbon accounting requirements. In her spare time between certifications, Karen loves spending time in the great outdoors, particularly getting sandy with her family at the beach.
Nadine France, Marketing & Communications Manager

Nadine manages the marketing and communications function of Toitū Envirocare. She is passionate about reaching the right audience with the right message, and spreading the word about the importance of sustainability to both business and consumer audiences.
Nadine has a diverse marketing background spanning both the public and private sectors. She also brings international experience having worked in New Zealand, London and the Middle East. In her spare time, she enjoys long distance running, reading and hot yoga, and is trying to improve her cooking skills.
Steve Dixon, General Manager Partnerships & Strategy

Steve develops new partnership opportunities for Toitū Envirocare while managing key relationships and developing new products to meet our customers evolving needs.
With over 20 years’ experience in sustainability, and several governance roles under his belt, he brings a wealth of knowledge, capability and experience to the team. When not holding down our proverbial fort in Wellington, Steve lives above the sea in Wellington’s Eastern suburbs, has two daughters, two beehives and is foolish enough to still play competitive football.
Andrea Topp, Technical Advisor
BSc Environmental Science & Statistics (University of Auckland)
Andrea has a naturally investigative and curious nature so is a valued part of our auditor team. She also loves helping clients find solutions so she works hard as an account manager as well.
Having recently finished university studies, Andrea has fresh expertise focussing on innovative solutions to global environmental issues and is now excited to be starting her future in the sustainability sector. With a love for the environment like no other, you can find Andrea spending most weekends picking up litter on beaches or planting trees in the community.
Andrew MacKenzie, Technical Advisor

Andrew’s focus as a Technical Advisor is to help clients with their carbon and energy goals.
He is interested in the impacts of climate change on New Zealand’s industry and how his passion for renewable energy can help reduce those impacts. Having lived in the US for the last 11 years playing polo and going to school, he is excited to be home and back on the rugby pitch, even if it does include the odd black eye. He loves a good yarn about politics and history, especially over a pint, and harbours ambitions of becoming Prime Minister in the future.
Angus Whitehead, Software Support Administrator

Angus assists the IT development team with delivering solutions to Toitū Envirocare's clients.
He completed a Bachelors degree in ICT and has gained knowledge and experience in a range of areas, including software development. He has a strong passion for technology and how it can be used to benefit the environment. As well as IT, Angus has studied animation (both 3D digital and hand-drawn) while living in a hostel in Japan. He enjoys communicating with people from different cultures, and can hold a basic conversation in Japanese.
Anjali James Software Developer

Anjali is a technophile in the IT team with experience in finding web-based solutions in the communication and insurance industries.
She enjoys exploring new technologies to solve complex business system problems. This passion for experimentation also plays out in the kitchen where she loves trying new recipes and techniques. She even has a personal taste tester – her husband! Having moved to Aotearoa from India, Anjali enjoys road-tripping to new destinations, taking in all four seasons in the land of the long white cloud.
Dr Ann Smith, Special Advisor to the Chief Executive

Ann provides expert guidance to our Chief Executive, based on her decades of involvement with Toitū Envirocare’s programmes.
She has a varied history, including academic research, sustainable development strategies, and programme development and has been with the Toitū carbonreduce and Toitū carbonzero programmes from the early days. She divides her time between Christchurch and Auckland and whenever she has a spare moment, Ann can be found in her garden, knitting, or admiring her grandchildren.
Ashish Kundalkar, Marketing & Communications Executive

Ashish is a communications specialist who helps spread the word about Toitū Envirocare and our offerings.
A self-proclaimed corporate storyteller and Netflix binge specialist, Ashish is passionate about marketing and helping our clients realise the full potential of their sustainability story. When not at work, you will usually find him thinking about going to the gym, curled up with a book or out-and-about, kicking back with a beer and his ‘fam’.
Austin Hansell, Communications & Certification Advisor

Austin helps the company and our clients tell sustainability stories.
With a background in writing, editing and education, she specialises in clearly, concisely and usefully translating technical information for our range of users. This includes looking after the carbon certification schemes, overseeing the use of certification marks, and work on company communications, but her favourite part is telling client stories. Austin is always keen to get away to the mountains and bush, but can also be found curled up with a book or trying a new recipe.
Bronwyn Cook, Marketing Executive

Bronwyn helps our clients with marketing support and communicating their credentials.
She has a unique variety of experience across environmental science, genetic counselling and sustainability which helps her find creative solutions. Bronwyn has travelled extensively and brings international experience having previously lived in Australia and the UK. She moved to Christchurch with her family to explore the incredible kiwi landscape. When she isn’t supporting our members, Bronwyn can usually be found exploring, skiing, hiking or walking her dog.
Caitlin Burns, Technical Advisor
Bachelor of Environmental Management (Lincoln University), Diploma in Environmental and Outdoor Leadership (CPIT – now ARA).
Caitlin is learning from and supporting the Technical Advisors with their work while absorbing information from all of the technical avenues within Toitū Envirocare.
This is in preparation to help support organisations to reach their goals towards the environmentally friendly and sustainable future that they envision. Her interests lie in providing holistic environmental management and trying to tackle problems from different perspectives. Outside of the office, you will find her off adventuring with her pup Monty or reading a good book.
Chris Bailey, Senior Environmental Advisor
MSc Cellular and Molecular Biology (Auckland University)
Chris is a born teacher, his goal is to make the most confusing ideas in sustainability easy to understand. Most of his time he guides members through the Toitū enviromark programme, but this work overlaps into all kinds of management systems; from Health and Safety to Quality and Energy Management.
Chris takes members through a range of complex issues until they can see the way forward – his favourite moment is when members realise they’ve become experts. He has particular expertise in compliance, preventing pollution, and developing self-sustaining systems.
Grace Mkwara, Commercial Administrator
Bachelor of Business at Auckland University of Technology
As Commercial Administrator, Grace’s speciality areas of Sustainable Enterprises, Entrepreneurship and Innovation ensures the Sales and Marketing team runs smoothly.
She is very excited to be part of Toitū Envirocare, as this aligns well with her passion and aspiration of living a sustainable lifestyle. When she is out of the office, she is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys being at one with nature by going to the beach. Grace also loves practicing the principles of kaitiakitanga by being involved in volunteer groups that look after the environment.
Gui Berringer, Auditor

Gui brings a wealth of international experience to the auditing team at Toitū Envirocare.
With a background in Environmental Health and Safety management, Gui has enjoyed working across a range of industries and projects, particularly focussing on improving high risk activities. He also has experience in carbon footprinting, and sustainability more broadly. In his down time, Gui spends time with friends, plays squash and rides his bike. Since moving to New Zealand, he has discovered fishing and free diving as new sporting pursuits.
Helen Parker, PA to the CEO & Office Manager
Helen looks after our busy CEO to make sure she is where she needs to be and has everything she needs on a daily basis. She also manages the Parnell Office to keep things running smoothly for their busy team. Helen also looks after the carbon programme invoicing and assists the Parent Company HR Department with the Toitū Envirocare payroll and all things HR.
Helen’s background is in administration and database management across a range of industries from Airlines to Education. Helen is a keen Rotarian and in her spare time enjoys walking and reading.
Helene Pacalin, Technical Account Manager

Helene supports Toitū Envirocare members—from managing targets to helping them gain maximum benefit from their credentials, she walks alongside them on their journey to certification.
With background in environmental management and auditing processes, Helene brings a wealth of insight, especially from the tourism industry. Outside of the office, you will find Helene out and about exploring new restaurants and the beautiful New Zealand outdoors. Be sure to greet her with a little ‘bonjour’ to win brownie points – Parlez vous Français?
Hima Palapala, Software Developer

Hima is a software developer within the IT team.
She enjoys identifying and implementing highly technical and user-friendly software. With a growth mindset and a desire to pursue excellence, Hima is strongly focused on team achievement and getting the job done to the best standards possible. She is always up for a challenge! Outside of work, Hima is constantly on the go. You can usually find her getting up to mischief with her daughter, being creative with embroidery projects or exercising her green fingers when helping her husband in the garden.
Kate Ellingham, Technical Account Manager

Kate guides Toitū members on their on-going journey through our certification programmes – she hopes to positively challenge them for continuous environmental improvement.
Kate has a background in product formulation and also business development. Her interest in these two areas has grown into green innovation and sustainable business. Kate's passion for environmental sustainability is fueled by her experience sailing around the Pacific Islands, where she saw first-hand some of the islands most vulnerable to climate change and the impact of environmental mismanagement. She is now excited to help organisations reduce their environmental impact and realise the accompanying commercial benefits. Kate loves the outdoors and is happiest out sailing, windsurfing or kite-surfing.
Kate Walsh Certification Advisor

Kate is our Certification Advisor, adept at problem solving and ensuring the carbon certification process run smoothly.
Kate is proud to be a part of the Toitu team as it aligns with her own mission to reduce her environmental impacts. She strives to live single-use plastic free and can usually be found on the bike, using people rather than petrol power. In her down time, she enjoys a good cup of coffee and running in the hills. Kate is also passionate about social issues and recently travelled from London to Mongolia to raise funds for charity.
Katie Watt Sales Executive

Katie is the Business Development team’s representative in the South Island, and helps business to take their first steps toward a low carbon or sustainability journey.
Coming from a background in marketing and design thinking, her fresh customer-focused perspective helps her to understand business needs and aspirations, and how we can best support them with our programmes. Katie is excited about helping businesses to reduce their environmental impacts. Out of the office she enjoys surfing, hiking and experiencing New Zealand’s hidden gems.
Linda Antony, Software Engineer

Linda is in our IT team, designing and developing innovative software solutions across a range of projects both internal and external.
She is passionate about learning new technologies which has led her to develop diverse experience across a variety of sectors including Defence, Construction and eCommerce. Originally from India, Linda enjoys the Kiwi lifestyle and natural surrounds of the Canterbury plains. Linda’s eye for detail is also well-used outside of the office, where she works on her beautiful garden and interior decorating.
Marcus Tham, .NET Web Developer

Marcus is an IT expert, developing software solutions that ensure our client’s needs are well met.
As a seasoned IT professional, he has over 16 years of software development experience in consulting, requirement gathering, system analysis & designing, software development and implementing multi-tier application systems. Having worked across a diversity of industries such as Finance, Insurance, Transportation and FMCG, he is well placed to solve any software problem. When not working, he enjoys walking in the hills, playing music and serving in the church.
Nick Watts, Technical Account Manager/Product Specialist

Nick is our Product Specialist, responsible for Life Cycle Assessment and product certification, as well as looking after clients in their journey towards Toitū carbonzero and Toitū carbonreduce certifications.
Nick comes from a teaching background, having taught a variety of subjects in Auckland, the Waikato, Hanoi and Guatemala City. He is passionate about building relationships and bringing meaningful change to businesses. When out of the office you will find him shooting (and missing) fish with his speargun or spending time with his young family.
Pieter Fransen, Lead Environmental Auditor

Pieter has been with Toitū Envirocare over three years and audits our greenhouse gas and environmental management system members over a wide range of industry sectors.
He has extensive experience in environmental, health and safety, and social responsibility management systems with the mining and forestry sectors to maintain a social licence to operate. Recently he has been involved in sustainability standards particularly for the agricultural sector. Out of work, Pieter is occupied with work on his lifestyle block at Athenree, Western Bay of Plenty.

Ronja provides certification preparation and management support to our members, focusing on strengthening business processes and adding value.
Her experience ranges from ensuring environmental compliance to sustainable business management consulting for a range of industries. When she’s out of the office, you are likely to find her out hiking, horse riding, digging in her veggie garden or travelling.
Sean O’Flaherty, Sales Manager

Sean is our Sales Manager and has a passion for sustainability and developing high performance teams.
Having spent time as a senior sales leader in various industries he is experienced in serving teams to assist in the achievement of objectives and key results. He brings drive and determination coupled with creative problem solving to ensure the best solutions are provided to the team which in turn delivers success to clients. Outside of business Sean spends his time with his wife and two young sons. He loves gardening, music and supporting his local community.
Simon Anderson, Programme Lead - Public Sector Engagement and New Tool Development

Simon has a varied role at Toitū Envirocare, helping our public sector clients, and helping us design, develop and deliver new products.
A recent arrival, he is excited about the opportunity to bring his digital product ownership and IT consulting skills to sustainability, which has been a long-term aim. Wellington is home, a place he feels a sense of tūrangawaewae, of belonging and kinship, and accordingly he is active in this community. His interests are varied; from films and reading, to his bike and fitness, to family and friends.
Sonia Groes-Petrie, Lead Auditor
Sonia’s greenhouse gas inventory experience is a great asset for our auditing team and the Toitū client family.
Sonia spent eight years with the Ministry for the Environment leading the compilation of New Zealand’s greenhouse gas inventory to the United Nations, including reviewing other countries’ emissions inventories. She also has experience within the agricultural sector, helping to develop mobile apps to assist farmers to manage their water, fertiliser and effluent. Outside of work, Sonia enjoys European folk dancing, gardening, walking and reading.
Sophia White, Technical Advisor Carbon & Sustainability

Sophia is a sustainability advocate. Her role is to support the team with technical expertise on issues relating to carbon management and sustainable best practices.
What she enjoys most is providing solutions for the variety of challenges our clients face. Sophia likes to lead by example, showing the world that sustainability is a positive lifestyle choice, she regularly cycles the 40km commute to and from the Lincoln office and believes she was the first person to coin the word ‘flexitarian’ (whilst at university in 2013).
Stu McKenzie, Senior Technical Advisor & Auditor
BSc Geography and Earth Science (Massey University), Diploma Natural Resource management (Massey University)
Stu spends most of his time supporting our members as they prepare to get certified under our carbon programmes. Stu also sources and manages carbon credits, works on programme improvements, bespoke client projects, and conducts audits.
Stu has a Bachelor of Science in Geography and Earth Sciences and a Postgraduate Diploma in Natural Resource Management from Massey University. Stu is also a certified Environmental Practitioner (CEnVP). Stu enjoys getting outdoors gardening, walking, and appreciating local activities with his daughter.
Sue Taylor, Programme Administrator
Sue is the mainstay of our Christchurch office and keeps it under control. She has many roles including administering the Toitū enviromark programme, overseeing auditor bookings and helping with accounts.
Sue has been a part of the Toitū enviromark programme for over 11 years and her expertise ensures that everyone - clients, auditors and staff - find the process easy and pleasant. Sue keeps her carbon footprint in check by walking to work most days. In her spare time, she can often be found in her garden or playing with her grandson.
Tom Clark, Lead Auditor

Tom conducts carbon audits and technical reviews as well as supporting all of Toitū Envirocare's certification programmes.
With over 35 years of consulting and technical experience, he has worked on sustainability and greenhouse gas issues in many industry sectors and countries. Outside of work he loves nature and has long been active in biodiversity conservation. He loves all kinds of music as well as animals, food, gardens, travel, history and reading. He is an avid walker, especially if there’s a good pub at the other end.
