Recreational Services, founded in 1992 as a specialist golf turf management company, has grown into a full facility maintenance organisation employing over 500 staff across 12 council districts. Recreational Services now specialises in the development and maintenance of parks, reserves and sportsfields, tracks and walkways, including facilities and asset management, project management and long-term contract management across 5532 sites.
One of Recreational Services commitments is to ensure we are managing our business sustainably, and as such, we undergo an independent audit from Toitū Envirocare.
In 2004, we began working towards Enviro-Mark® certification. Since 2008 we have consistently held Diamond Certification, the highest of the certifications, which acknowledges our robust Environmental Management System we have in place. The annual Enviro-Mark® audit ensures we consistently maintain these high environmental standards. Of the 12 Recreational Services depots, 9 are Enviro-Mark certified which includes: Auckland, Whangarei, Masterton, Horowhenua, Tauranga, Manawatu, Christchurch Far North and Queenstown.
