Anderson Lloyd is one of New Zealand top 10 legal firms with four offices across New Zealand (Dunedin, Queenstown, Christchurch and Auckland). It leases its premises and therefore assets largely comprise office fit outs, technology and debtors. This inventory reports into the Toitū carbonzero programme.

It supplies legal services to its clients and has a strong reputation in Resource Management and a growing reputation in Infrastructure, Property and Renewable energy. Therefore, whilst its services are in themselves not generating a high carbon footprint it is in a position to provide advice and leadership in this area.

The production of its service produces a moderate carbon footprint with travel and electricity being its highest producers by some distance. It operates its own servers and does not use outsourced cloud providers. In all instances it is one of a number of tenants in its buildings and therefore does not have a strong ability to influence the owner's emissions goals.

Anderson Lloyd Partnership received Toitū carbonzero accreditation in May 2020 and is seeking to reduce emissions going forward. Ultimately it would like to be carbon neutral. It considers this is the right thing to do and is in a position it can offer some leadership by example. It has been steadily working on its sustainability programmes for the last 7 years and has numerous initiatives, policies and procedures in place. This has gained momentum in the past 3 years as the culture of the organisation has evolved.
