College House is an independent hall of residence for University of Canterbury students. It is located in Christchurch, adjoining the campus of the University of Canterbury and is the oldest independent university hall of residence in New Zealand. Founded in 1850, College House is proud of its reputation for academic excellence within a vibrant, supportive and socially diverse community. Our excellent facilities allow 159 mainly first and some second year students to be well looked after through quality pastoral care, internal tutorials, catering, social/sporting activities and accommodation, during their academic year. College House is a trust registered with the Charities Commission (CC23176). It is governed by a Board of Trustees including the Warden who is the Anglican Bishop of Christchurch.
