Samson Corporation are commercial property owners in Auckland operating exclusively with tenant-landlord operating leases. The majority of properties are retail buildings and have a single tenant; with these buildings we have little control over their operation as utility management is a tenant responsibility. We have 19 large multi-tenanted buildings where we manage the waste and/or electricity and/or gas and/or HVAC for the tenants and these multi-tenanted buildings are covered by the carbon assessment in conjunction with Samson's office operation and any construction.

Mid last year a sustainability strategy was agreed upon and softly launched on our website. Relevant targets include carboNZero certification by 2030, Minimum 5 Green Star for new developments rated; Minimum 4 NABERS NZ rating for those buildings assessed by 2020; Minimum 5 Green Star Performance rating for those assessed; 80% per cent reduction of waste going to landfill per site by 2020; Minimum 80% construction waste recycled.
