In 2014, Catalyst created Catalyst Cloud to provide true cloud infrastructure and platform services, and this became an independent company within the Catalyst IT group in August 2017. Catalyst Cloud's public and private cloud services provide the five essential characteristics of cloud computing according to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and are tailored for the local market. Catalyst Cloud's annual turnover is over $3.5m NZD a year, and the company employs around 30 staff in New Zealand.
