Costain has a fully integrated Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) Management System, which covers all
sectors and operations of the business. This system operates under the direction of the Central SHE
Department and is continuously reviewed to ensure it meets legal requirements. The Costain Environmental
Management system is certificated to the ISO14001:2015 international standard following the audit
undertaken in 2021. The Group Environmental Policy Statement outlines our intention to ensure we manage
all our work and subsequent impacts effectively, prevent pollution where practicable and continuously
improve the operation and reduce environmental impact of our activities.

and regular review of its management systems and has established short and long-term objectives and
targets relating to environmental performance
