Overview

Industry

Government

Ōtautahi Community Housing Trust is among the biggest non-government community housing providers in New Zealand. We own or lease more than 2,300 homes in greater Christchurch and have a firm commitment - and a building programme – to grow the city’s community housing stock and get those most in need into homes. Tenants are central to all we do at Ōtautahi Community Housing Trust; our holistic delivery model links tenants to the services they need to foster independence and selfdetermination to help them grow their own, sustainable, tenancies.

Sustainability is also at the core of our commitment to our environment. We consider and work to minimise our impact on the environment in all our business decisions – including in our work improving the environmental performance of the city’s community housing stock – and we take seriously our responsibility to make climate change action part of the way a sustainability-focused organisation does business. Achieving Toitū carbonzero certification will further sharpen this focus, helping us refine and continuously improve our environmental performance to ensure we continue to contribute positively to the carbon zero goal as we develop socially and environmentally sustainable communities.
