Skanska UK plc is a Business Unit of Skanska AB which is a Swedish based construction company working across the Nordics, US, Eastern Europe and UK. Skanska UK carries out a range of construction related services including building, civil engineering, piling and foundations, facility management, mechanical and electrical engineering and specialist activities such as data infrastructure. Skanska UK’s operations is broken into four Operating Units with some of its activities carried out as part of non incorporated joint ventures with external partners.
Skanska takes its environmental responsibilities seriously aspiring to be the leader in green construction. The company has agreed a science-based target and aims to be net zero across its value chain by 2045. The company operates proactive environmental policies through an ISO14001 registered management system. Environmental performance is reported and reviewed by senior management and specialist support staff. A Director of Sustainability and Innovation reports to the CEO. Skanska UK is certified to PAS 2080 and has set carbon reduction as a strategic theme of its current business plan, implementing a four-point plan across its activities to reduce its direct impacts and provide cost effective low carbon solutions to the customers it works for.
