Zealandia Ecosanctuary - Toitū carbonzero certification story
ZEALANDIA joined the Toitū carbonzero programme in 2014 and have come a long way since.
Over the years, they've reduced their emissions by 17% despite seeing a consistent rise in visitor numbers. The ecosanctuary strives to provide its visitors with a truly 'clean & green New Zealand' experience by walking the talk and being as environmentally sustainable as they can be.
Their initiatives span from waste management, transition to EVs, sustainable procurement policy for their retail shop, to consistent carbon accounting processes. Going forward, Zealandia plans to further upgrade its infrastructure and visitor centre to improve energy-efficient and continually lower their carbon emissions.
