Bay of Plenty District Health Board (BOPDHB) is one of 20 District Health Boards (DHBs) in New Zealand, and has the purpose of funding and providing personal health services, public health services and disability support services for the Bay of Plenty region, servicing a population of around 225,000.
BOPDHB operates two hospitals, one in Tauranga and one in Whakatāne, and provides a number of community and regional based services.
BOPDHB’s vision is healthy, thriving communities. BOPDHB understandings that in order for our communities to thrive, we must have a healthy and flourishing environment. BOPDHB also accepts that climate change will have a significant impact on human health. This in turn will have an effect on DHBs and the services that they provide.
